Summary: On 6 May 1843, Joseph Smith said: "I prophecy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in the state of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted..." Since it is more than 150 years since this prophecy was uttered, and because the US government still exists, some claim that this is a false prophecy.
Summary: It is claimed that 1) The "White Horse" prophecy predicts the "transformation of the U.S. government into a Mormon-ruled theocracy" and 2) that the "White Horse" prophecy "continues to be a dominant element of the faith espoused by Joseph Smith's followers" because they believe that they will be "officers and administrators" during Christ's millennial reign.
